ELIZA

Good morning Patsy. What can I say about Eliza? She is PERFECT and acts as though she has been in our family forever. She has settled in to our routine and even the first night she snuggled up on her bed beside me and slept straight through the night. Her favorite spot seems to be on the sofa curled up and very content. One surprise has been the fact that she LOVES all the stuffed doggie toys. She carries them around the house and even to bed at night. Our family is complete with our sweet Eliza. Our lab is very content having a buddy and Eliza follows her everywhere. As you can tell, life is great in our household! Thank you so much for all that you did for us and Eliza and all that you continue to do for the others like her. I will keep you posted on her progress.
Many thanks,
Lou Ann
HUXLEY

Huxley, formerly known as Blair, is one of the three rescued and flown in from a high kill shelter in North Carolina last summer. She is now 1 year old and is living in Mt. Pleasant with a family of two children and her big brother Trevor, a chocolate lab. She is very happy to be in a loving home.

LILAH
Dear Patsy and Diane –
just wanted to say hello and tell ya’ll that we were so sorry we missed the golden reunion. We were in Florida that weekend and could not make it! The picture on the website is so cute! I can not imagine that many goldens in one spot!! We will HAVE to attend next year! J I can not tell you how happy we are that we made the decision to come to Charleston the day we adopted Lilah! We came sooo close to not coming because we just did not think we were ready yet. It is amazing how God works things out for the VERY best. She is such a DELIGHT to our family. I have attached our latest family picture – she ALWAYS closes her eyes in pictures and we think it is the CUTEST thing!! Have a great day and thanks again for all that you do for LCGRR!

MARLEY
Hello Patsy,
Marley is loving her new home. She looks forward to her walks everyday and playing outside with her ball. She has fitted in our family perfectly. She loves going to the dog park to see all the other dogs, all the excitement!! She has also in fact, met two other goldens there. She has became best friends with our cat Minnie. They are absolutely adorable together! She is healthy as can be also. Her vet was impressed. When the vet came in the room, after meeting us, marley stuck her paw out and wanted a handshake too. (she has lost weight and it's improved her strength in her back legs, we've noticed alot). She brings smiles to everyone faces when we take her places, such as downtown Charleston. We are so thankful to have her in our family. We will be sure to keep you updated :). She will be coming to the dog show on May 2nd, she hopes to see you all there :). Here are some new pictures :) Enjoy & have a very Happy Easter :) Sincerely,
Marley's owner Tanya Conover

Adopted March 2003, has passed his CGC exam in the first attempt. At 8.5 years old, you still can teach an old dog new tricks. -- Alex Barry
BAILEY
Hi there LCGRR folks, sorry it took me so long to write but I am having a wonderful time in my new home. My new family took some time for me to train, these humans aren't nearly as bright as we Goldens. I have a fenced in yard all to myself and a screened in porch that I let myself in and out as well. I sent you the picture of me on my couch. I rest here and can pop up to "people watch" out the window all day long. My bed is in the master bedroom right at the foot of their bed. I have two other rescued labs in my "extended" family and we get together an run and play most weekends. "Joey" who's picture is on the LCGRR website today looks just like me, but I can't convince the folks here to adopt him as well.
Thanks you so much for rescuing me and I hope you keep up all the wonderful work you do for us!
"Bailey"

JACK
Dear Friends --
I want to thank you personally, as well as commend your entire organization, on the incredible, selfless, professional and compassionate work done by Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue.
From my first moment of contact with you, Linda, then directly with Diane, as Jack's Foster Mom, I was given the most prompt, patient and faithful attention. During our conversations, I never doubted I was working with caring people and I was confident your desire was the same as mine -- to find a right fit for our family, while considering my current 4-legged household and the needs of each of your Goldens.
My telephone conversations (and there were many) with Diane were so very kind and helpful. I was so excited at the prospect of this new family member. Diane never failed to return a phone call, send an email, keep me updated on progress -- she was with me and so encouraging every step of the way. The home inspection was arranged in such a timely manner and I so appreciate the volunteers who do this important part of placement.
It was my absolute joy to meet you both and to meet our dear Jack. He was exactly as described -- Diane knew his personality completely and this precious boy has melded into our family as though he had been with us from the beginning. He is just a joy -- a blessing indeed. He has a "sister" -- Reagan, the Sheltie and a "brother" -- Gizzie the Manx Feline. They just go together like "peas and carrots."
Jack is such a smart boy, too. He mastered sit, stay and down in a flash. He loves walks and playing with toys and his favorite thing is tummy scritches and being brushed. It's part of our daily life !!
I hope you don't mind if I continue updates and photographs -- I'm a new Mom and MUST share that "Baby Book." As I've said to you before, I have a heart for the Rescue Dog and Jack is my third rescue. All dogs are special and none can take the place of another .... however, Jack is absolutely the "Cherry on my Canine Sundae!" Thank you, so very much, for the incredible job you do for these grand animals and bringing Jack into our lives.
Many, many blessings to you all !!

CAMDEN (formerly Sundance)
Hi. My husband and I were lucky enough to be approved for one of your rescues four years ago. We found our boy (Sundance, but we named him Camden) on PetFinders.com and fell in love immediately. We even printed a color picture and hung it really low on the refrigerator so his brother could get acquainted with him before we brought him home!!! I wanted to let you know how he was doing.
Camden continues to be a joy. As the years go by he is more confident that he has found his forever home. His tail wags all the time. He loves being talked to and petted; I think he'd rather be petted than eat although you can see by the pictures he hasn't missed too many meals! And he has the "golden nose flip" down like a master - he'll wedge his nose under your arm and flip it when he wants attention. His big trick is to sit on your left, flip your arm, and get petted. When you're done, he'll walk around the chair to your right, sit down and look at you for more petting - he thinks we haven't figured it out!!!! He has two brothers - Cody (an 11 year old goldie, not a rescue) and Gizmo (a six year old cat a sorta rescue) and a sister - Hanna (a German Sheppard another sorta rescue). In the picture with the two goldens, he is the one on the left. My favorite is where he is in the grass. Is he a beauty or what???
Anyway, this is our Camden. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

KOTA
Hi Linda,
I just wanted to share some pictures of Kota! She is such a great puppy, and we are absolutely in love with her! We taught her how to sit and come when she was 9 weeks! She is a very, very smart dog and such a love!
We are so happy that we found you and Buttercup.
Thank you again for everything.

JAKE
Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to give you an update on Jake and share some recent pictures. He is doing FANTASTIC!!! He had his first day of school last Monday and was a super star! He did so well that the teacher started using him for all of her examples...we were so proud: ). His second class is tonight and we are all looking forward to it. Will and I took him on the boat for the first time yesterday and he loved every minute. He's past out right behind me this very minute...pooped from his 3 mile jog this morning. We couldn't be happier!

SUMMER
Hi Linda,
I wanted to send you a quick note tell you how wonderful Summer is doing! She is a sweet, loving, and smart dog. She loves to swim in the ocean, chase the tennis ball and go for walks in her new neighborhood in Jacksonville, FL. The cats (Rocky and Jack) love her as well. We are so lucky and blessed to have Summer in our home and would recommend a senior golden to any family. Thank you so much for introducing us to our wonderful friend. She has changed and blessed our lives in more ways then I could ever describe. I have attached some pictures. We will be in Charleston for Thanksgiving so hopefully we can meet on Sullivan’s Island one morning so the dogs can swim. Thank you for everything you do to help such wonderful dogs!
Kind Regards,
Sarah
STELLA (FORMERLY CINNAMON)

We hope your family is doing well and staying warm! It is hard to believe that we have had Stella (Cinnamon) for over a year. She is a sweet, loving girl and a joy to have.
Attached are just a few pictures of Stella and Clancy and will send more when they are developed. I (hopefully) captured both of them with their Santa hat on.
Good tidings and love!
Alicia, Norma, Stella and Clancy
