I can't believe this happened to me. My owner drove me to the
county and dumped me and just drove off. Someone in a house saw him
but couldn't get the license plate to call the sheriff. How can he
just drive off and leave me, I'm only a baby......The nice lady that
saw him do this called the Rescue and asked for help because she had
several dogs already and couldn't keep me. Because I was fed so
poorly, and I mean poorly I have rickets. I am on vitamins and I'll
go back to the vets in a few weeks for a recheck. My legs might not
be perfect but my heart is and I will give you a ton of love. Please
can you open your heart to me, I won't even care if you don't have
pretty legs either.
Update from foster mom: Emmy Lou is doing great! She and Maddie hit it off from the start, and since we brought her home on Tuesday, they have been the best of buds. They love to go out in the backyard and play together. Other than an occasional slipper or shoe that miraculously appears from my closet either in Emmy's mouth or elsewhere in the house, she has been a good girl - especially for a puppy! We have also continued to work on what she learned with Miss Jennifer at Fetch - we have been practicing her sits, stays, downs and wait. She's eating very well and seems to enjoy a nice walk around the neighborhood either first thing in the morning or after dinner in the evenings. Now that both she and Maddie are in Gentle Walker, it makes walking the two dogs together much less of a laborious exercise for me, which is nice! She's a very good listener and is very attentive. I have attached a pic that I snapped last night while getting ready for bed - it's Emmy and Maddie lying side by side, enjoying each other's company just before bedtime. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to foster sweet Emmy Lou - she's a great puppy and will be a wonderful dog and companion for years to come.

Alley, female, age 1
I was on death row in a shelter in Alabama but thanks to several wonderful rescues helping me I am now in Charleston. I am with child or should I say children and should be having my babies in about a week. I am a very sweet girl and all I ask for is someone to love me. I am very well behaved in the house and I have 3 goldens in my foster home. Keep checking on me and we'll have pictures of my babies soon.
Update: Alley has had her little ones, she has 9 healthy puppies.
